Terms of Use

Effective October 11, 2026

These Terms of Use (“these Terms”) set out the terms between you and the provider of the Play Chord app (“we” or “us”) for using the app (“the app”). By using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. About the app

The app is free to use. It shows ads on the screen.

2. Your notes and recordings

You own the notes you write and the recordings of your playing you make in the app. They are saved only on your device, in your iCloud Drive, or in a similar place of yours, and are not sent to us (see the Privacy Policy for details).

Please also keep your own copies of important notes and recordings, for example with iCloud Drive or your device’s backups.

3. Copying lyrics and chord sheets

When you copy lyrics or chord sheets of songs written by others, use them only as permitted by law, such as for your personal enjoyment. When you share a note, do not infringe the rights of those who hold the rights to the song.

4. What you must not do

5. Warranty and liability

We work to make the app work as intended, but do not guarantee that it is free of defects or fit for any particular purpose.

We are not liable for any damage you suffer from using the app (including the loss of or damage to your notes or recordings), except where caused by our intent or gross negligence.

6. Changes to and ending of the app

We may change the app or stop providing it. Even if the app is no longer provided, your notes stay with you as plain text files.

7. Store terms

If you got the app from the App Store or Google Play, that store’s terms also apply. If you got it from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. When they change, the new version will be posted on this page and takes effect when posted. Important changes will be announced in the app or on this website.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.

10. Contact
